The Fed Up Feminist

Hello everyone.

I have had an idea for a while, but I did not see the point of writing about this because a lot of people are already talking about this. However, I decided to do a year long research project about this issue. To find out why we are seeing this issue in politics, in schools, and we even see this in our social situations.

What I’m talking about is purity culture. Today, in the United States abstinence only sex education is being taught. Abstinence only programs are being funded by the federal government. Women are still being slut shamed for being sexuality active. When people think of purity culture, they think of the Disney purity ring era and the 2000s, but it is still here today.

I have been interested in this issue for years, and for the next year I will research and post blogs about my findings.

I decided to call this project Purity and the young woman.

I look forward to writing and researching about this, and I hope you all will enjoy this project. I will be writing about other things during this year, so don’t worry if you are not interested in this issue.
